This is a marketing campaign for Sac State’s Department of Design Spring Show. The Spring Show exhibits student work from the graphic design, interior design and photography majors to future employers, prospective students, and alumni. Through research I found there to be relationships between the majors and chose to illustrate that through the Venn Diagram. The poster shows each circle coming together and consists of the tools and principles utilized in that discipline. The center of the diagram says communicate because it is the essence of what each major does.
This theme was carried over to the other deliverables: postcard, website, exhibition entrance display, and program. For the postcard, I decided to use color instead of words because of the size of the piece and as a sort of teaser. The website was designed to be directly linked from the Dept. of Design's website. The idea for the exhibition display was to have all of the words from the venn diagram in the poster printed on clear plexi-glass circles so that the lights that hang over-head will shine the words onto the wall. Finally, the program uses a pattern derived from the Venn Diagram. The restriction of the program was that it would be printed on the copy machine in the Dept. of Design office, which means black and white and a margin.
